This is an ongoing project to list my ten favourite films from each year in cinema history. So far my viewing habits and knowledge only allow me to go back as far as 1926 but I will update these lists and add further yearly top tens from the 1920s when I get the chance.

    also, whats sad is that 2013 may not even have a top 10. I'm working out my preliminary top/best of for 2013 and i only got a top 8...

    1. Thanks for the comments. I really like Lucrecia Martel’s work and need to see The Headless Woman again. My first viewing of it at the cinema was under very bad circumstances and I have hardly any memory of the film at all, besides the terrible mood I was in while watching it.

      I’ve not heard many positive comments about To the Wonder but personally I found it to be far superior to The Tree of Life. I feel it already deserves a reappraisal.

      I’m having a similar problem with 2013 highlights. I hope to see as many new titles as possible over the next month or so in order to come up with a top 10 for the year that I’m happy with. So far I’ve only got about 5 or 6 worthy titles. Will be interesting to see what others consider to be among the year’s best.
